Getting there

Macedo is located on the intersection of the IP2 and IP4 roads.

From Oporto it's a 200 km drive, 60 km on the A4 highway and 140 km on IP4 road. If you want to avoid the mountains of Marão, or if you're coming from Braga, the best option is A7 — A24 — IP4.

From Lisbon it's a 500 km distance, the suggested path being: Lisbon – Coimbra (A1), Coimbra – Viseu (IP3), Viseu – Vila Real (A24) and Vila Real – Macedo (IP4). If you prefer to drive on highway only: Lisbon (A1) – Aveiro (A25) – Viseu (A 24) – Vila Real (IP 4) – Macedo.

Today it's possible to have a safe and comfortable trip, and not spend too much time doing it. If you're travelling from down South and chose to fly, then the trip will be extremely quick.
